17 May - Independence day in Norway или back to virtual life......

So!
Today i got the broadband installed - yahoooo!!!! Can't belive it - living without i-net for 3 weeks is a great challenge indeed..... :))
Anyways, now back to normal life, yay!
And back to my blog - i left it for a while - during this little bit of time i got so many things happened that i will have gradually put it into the blog. The most important of course is that i am back home......
Yeah....

Anyways, today i am writing about today - which is the Norway's Constitution Day - the greatest holiday for this country.

"The national day of celebration in Norway, May 17th is Norway's Constituion Day. It was on this day in 1814 that Norway's constitution was signed, making Norway a free and independent country.
After having been a part of the Danish autocracy for 400 years, Norway now joined into a loose union with Sweden that lasted until 1905. A limited and hereditary monarchy was introduced. The Norwegian constitution was the most modern in Europe at the time. Norwegians celebrate their national day differently than in any other country.
On May 17th, it is the colourful processions of children with their banners, flags and bands - not military parades - that play the main role. It is the spring celebration, from the lowliest backwater to the capital city, where the royal family waves to the passing procession from the palace balcony. Another special characteristic that contributes to making this a unique day is all the beautiful bunads or national costumes that more and more people are wearing in recent years. So this is the story and this is what it looks like. These are pics i took when i was in Bergen last year. I wish i could be there this time again..........
It was very impressive i should say - very patriotic - i never seen such a patriotic country by the way. And very peaceful and friendly, thats what i felt. And i did love the costumes - they are beautiful!
